FAQs

Wedding videography questions, answered.

Everything couples typically ask about working with Sea of Love. Can't find what you're looking for? Get in touch.

The films you'll receive

Sea of Love films weddings in a natural, emotional, documentary style. We focus on real moments as they unfold rather than staged or directed shots, working in a relaxed, unobtrusive way. The result feels like the day itself, anchored by genuine emotion rather than scripted coverage.

Sea of Love is a Melbourne wedding videographer built around honest storytelling rather than staged wedding content. We bring years of experience in documentary filmmaking, brand storytelling, and live event coverage, which shapes a calm, polished, story-first approach to every wedding we film. Our work focuses on films that feel personal, nostalgic, and true to the couple, not the same formula repeated every time.

Sea of Love wedding film packages typically include a fully edited wedding film, a short social media reel, and additional films or footage based on the collection you choose. Deliverables scale with the package, from a single highlight film through to multi-edit collections with ceremony and speech films. Before booking, we'll walk you through exactly what's included so there are no surprises later.

Sea of Love wedding films are typically 4 to 5 minutes long for the main feature edit. This length keeps the film emotional, cinematic, and easy to rewatch without feeling long. Some couples also choose longer edits, ceremony films, speech films, or raw footage, depending on how much of the day they'd like preserved.

Yes. Sea of Love works closely alongside your wedding photographer to make the experience feel seamless. We don't take over the day or turn everything into a video shoot, and a great photo and video team should complement each other. You get space to enjoy the wedding while both teams capture everything beautifully.

Coverage and the day itself

Sea of Love typically films 8 to 10 hours of wedding videography coverage, capturing preparations, the ceremony, location portraits, reception details, speeches, and the dance floor. We can recommend the right coverage length once we understand your timeline and what moments matter most. Longer coverage is available for weddings with extended preparation, multi-venue logistics, or destination travel.

Sea of Love is a Melbourne-based wedding videographer filming across Victoria, interstate, and overseas. We regularly travel for weddings and provide custom quotes for celebrations outside Melbourne based on location, travel requirements, and coverage needed. Our studio is in Melbourne, but our work takes us anywhere a couple is getting married.

Yes. Sea of Love regularly films weddings across Victoria, including the Yarra Valley, Mornington Peninsula, Geelong, Bellarine Peninsula, Macedon Ranges, and regional Victoria. We also travel interstate and overseas for destination weddings. Travel may be included or quoted separately depending on the location, schedule, and coverage required.

Yes. Sea of Love films destination weddings interstate and overseas, with custom quotes based on location, travel requirements, filming schedule, and coverage days. We have years of experience filming weddings around the world and can help guide you through planning the logistics. The earlier we know the details, the easier it is to plan everything properly.

Yes. Sea of Love carries backup camera, audio, and lighting equipment to every wedding and holds public liability insurance, which most venues require of their suppliers. We use professional gear across the board and bring redundancy for every critical component. The backup gear is there so the wedding film is never at risk from a single point of failure.

In the very unlikely event that illness or an emergency prevents Sea of Love from filming, we arrange a trusted professional replacement from within our team or close network of affiliates. Backup plans are in place so the wedding is always covered. We treat this as a worst-case scenario, but the plan exists so the day never depends on a single person.

Sea of Love blends into the wedding day by working calmly in the background while staying ready for the moments that matter. We communicate clearly with your photographer and venue, and only step in with gentle direction when it helps. You should feel like you're enjoying your wedding, not performing for the camera.

No. Sea of Love takes a low-key, unobtrusive approach to wedding videography, especially during the ceremony, speeches, and other key moments. We're careful about where we stand, how we move, and how much attention we draw. The best wedding films come from letting real moments unfold naturally.

Sea of Love films couples who aren't used to being on camera by keeping things relaxed, simple, and natural. We build a strong connection in the lead-up to the wedding, so you know us on the day and can feel like yourself in front of the camera. When direction is needed, it's gentle and easy to follow, never awkward or overly staged.

Sea of Love records audio for the ceremony, vows, and speeches using professional lavalier microphones and dedicated backup recorders. The exact setup depends on the venue and ceremony layout, but the goal is the same: clean, emotional audio that anchors the wedding film. Good audio is a huge part of how an emotional wedding film comes together.

Investment and packages

Wedding videography from Sea of Love starts at AUD 5,000 and typically reaches AUD 12,000 for full-day coverage in Melbourne. Pricing varies based on coverage hours, deliverables, location, and any add-ons you choose. Once we know your wedding date and details, we'll send through the most relevant collections.

Sea of Love wedding videography packages include wedding day coverage and your main edited film as the core deliverables, with some collections adding a social reel or other extras. Common add-ons include additional coverage hours, ceremony edits, speech edits, raw footage, and destination travel. The right combination depends on the day you're planning.

Wedding videography pricing reflects preparation, professional equipment, multiple audio sources, backup systems, filming on the day, editing, music licensing, colour grading, sound mixing, and long-term file care. It's also about trusting someone with the experience to capture moments you can't recreate. Sea of Love's pricing reflects years of refining that craft, not just turning up with a camera.

Yes. Sea of Love offers payment plans that split payments across a few stages once your wedding date is secured. The 35% deposit is still required to lock in the date, and we're happy to chat through a structure that feels manageable from there. The full payment schedule is shared in writing before booking.

How we work

Yes. Sea of Love welcomes inspiration boards, references, films you've loved, and venues you're drawn to. These help us understand your taste and what feels meaningful to you. That said, we always bring our own perspective and won't try to recreate someone else's film; your wedding deserves its own voice, and our job is to find it.

No. Sea of Love doesn't need a full shot list for your wedding day; we already know how to cover a wedding properly and what moments matter. That said, we always welcome notes on important family details, cultural moments, personal touches, or surprises you want us to be aware of. We cover this in the pre-wedding meeting before the day.

Yes. Sea of Love includes one complimentary round of revisions on the main feature in every package, so you can request small changes after viewing your first cut. Most changes are minor: swapping a shot, adjusting a moment, or refining a section of the edit. Larger structural changes can be discussed and quoted separately if needed.

Booking Sea of Love starts with checking availability for your wedding date, after which we'll send through our wedding film collections. From there, we can organise a call to hear about your day and help you choose the right option. To secure the date, we require a signed agreement and a 35% deposit, which officially locks the wedding in.

Sea of Love requires a 35% deposit to secure your wedding date, with the remaining balance paid 14 days before the wedding. All payment details and due dates are clearly outlined in writing before booking, so you know exactly what to expect. Payment plans can be discussed if you'd prefer to split the balance into stages.

Wedding films from Sea of Love are delivered within 6 to 8 weeks of the wedding date. You'll receive fortnightly updates on your film's progress via our production portal. We take editing seriously because your film should feel considered and personal, not rushed.

Yes. Sea of Love delivers a social preview reel within two weeks of the wedding, giving you something beautiful to share while we craft the main film. The full feature is delivered as a complete package once it's been carefully edited, colour graded, and finalised. The preview is short and shareable; the full film is the considered version.

After the wedding

Sea of Love wedding films are delivered as high-quality 4K MP4 files via a private download link. This format is easy to download, share, and watch, and helps future-proof your footage as technology evolves. The download link is perpetual, so you can access your films again later if needed.

Yes. Sea of Love wedding film packages include a short social media reel, with some collections also including a carousel-style delivery for Instagram. These edits are designed for easy sharing across Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook. The social cut runs in parallel with the main feature edit and arrives sooner so you have something to share while we craft the full film.

Sea of Love uses fully licensed music in your main wedding film so the final film can be shared safely on YouTube, Vimeo, and your wedding gallery. For social previews and reels, you can add a commercial song through Instagram's own music library when you post, pairing the preview with a song that feels personal or current. We deliver the social preview in a format that's easy to upload, keeping the main film properly licensed for online use.

Yes. Sea of Love offers raw footage as a wedding videography add-on, delivered as a rendered sequence of selected raw moments rather than every individual camera file. It's designed to be watched back like a home movie, capturing extra candid moments, ceremony sections, speeches, and in-between footage that may not appear in the final edited film. Raw footage is supplied as an unedited product without colour grading, audio mixing, creative editing, or revisions.

Sea of Love recommends downloading your wedding films as soon as they're delivered and backing them up in multiple places, since long-term storage is not guaranteed unless agreed in advance. We do our best to archive project files and footage for a period after delivery. For weddings more than 12 months old, a retrieval fee may apply if final deliverables were not confirmed or downloaded within the original delivery window.

Yes. Sea of Love provides a perpetual download link, so you can continue to access your delivered films through the original link. That said, we strongly recommend downloading your films as soon as they're delivered and keeping copies in multiple places. Wedding films are precious, so the best practice is always your own backups in safe storage.
