Khya& Sam
A long, slow autumn day in the Yarra Valley. Khya and Sam's wedding at Stones moved at the property's pace and held its own register from the first hour to the last.
Stones is, as anyone who has worked there will tell you, a property of two halves. The chapel is intimate, board-clad, and full of an unusual kind of quiet — not silence, but stillness. The other half opens onto the vineyards. We approached the day's coverage by leaning into both halves: tight inside the chapel, sweeping outside it.
Khya's vows were short and very specific — the kind that makes you understand, in fewer than a hundred words, exactly who someone has been listening to for the last seven years. Sam's vows took the long way around to the same place. Both made guests laugh, and both, briefly, made the celebrant cry.
The most enduring wedding films aren't the ones with the most coverage, but the ones that feel like the day itself.
