Megan& David

A summer wedding at Montalto Winery. Megan and David's day moved at the property's pace — long, slow, and held by the people in it.

Montalto, like the best Peninsula wineries, doesn't perform for a camera. The sculpture path leads the eye through the property without choreography, the vineyards hold their own light, and the buildings sit low against the landscape. Megan and David's day was filmed in that register — patient, observant, unhurried.

The ceremony was held under the trellis at the back of the property, the vineyards behind it, the celebrant standing in a position that gave us a wide flank for the cameras. David's vows were short. Megan's were almost as short. Both of them, briefly, made the celebrant cry.

What we'll remember from Megan and David's day is the length of it — not in hours but in pace. Nothing was rushed. The dinner ran into the dancing without a clear seam. The exit happened, eventually, sometime after midnight, with sparklers and a slow walk to the cottage. The film honours that pace.
