Sally& Sam
A spring wedding at Coombe Yarra Valley. The gardens at their most generous, and a couple who knew exactly what they wanted the day to feel like.
Coombe is a property that gives wedding films a particular kind of background: gardens that have been cultivated for over a century, hedges that don't apologise for themselves, and pathways that lead the eye through the property without obvious choreography. Sally and Sam timed the day for the roses, and the gardens delivered.
We took the day at our own pace. Nothing was rushed. Nathan filmed all of it, and we forgot he was there.
(Sally)
Sam's brother gave a speech that ran twelve minutes. On paper, twelve minutes is too long. In the room, it was exactly right: the kind of speech where every minute earned its place. Sally's mother followed with two minutes that did the same work in a sixth of the time. Both are in the film.
