An autumn wedding at the Royal Botanic Gardens. Small, sharp, emotionally exact — the kind of register that rewards attention.

Tali and Jamie wanted thirty guests, no formal photo line-up, no overheads, no staged anything. The Botanic Gardens are big enough that a small wedding can feel intimate without feeling lonely, and that's what the day became — a sharp, specific room of people who had clearly been chosen with care.

Jamie wrote his vows the night before, then again the morning of, then again ten minutes before walking. Tali wrote hers months in advance and didn't change a word. Both of them, in the moment, sounded exactly like themselves. The film holds the long pauses between sentences that you can't hear when you're in the room.
