Taylor& Kelsey

Pt. Leo Estate · Mornington Peninsula, Victoria

A long, slow afternoon at Pt. Leo Estate. Ocean light, an unhurried ceremony, and a wedding that took the day at its own pace.

The light at Pt. Leo Estate in autumn does something that the rest of the year doesn't quite reach — a long, low gold that holds for an hour and lets a ceremony breathe. Taylor and Kelsey wanted that light, and they got it.

Taylor wrote vows the morning of the wedding, sitting in the cottage above the sculpture park with a coffee gone cold. Kelsey's were written months in advance, then rewritten the night before. Both made the celebrant cry. Neither was rushed.

We didn't want a wedding that felt like a wedding. We wanted a long lunch with the people we love.

— Taylor

The wedding ran late, the way the best ones do. The band played without a setlist. Taylor's father, who had announced he wasn't going to dance, danced. We left after midnight with one of those sets of footage that, every now and then, edits itself in the car on the way home.
